In Wavelab you can make a time correction to change the tempo of audio files regardless of their pitch. We'll show you what options Wavelab offers you.
Time correction in Wavelab
In Wavelab, you can adjust the tempo of audio files or sections using the Time Correction menu. The following basic settings are available:
- If you do not want to change the tempo of the entire audio file, select an area.
- Press the [T] key or navigate via »Audio editing« -> »Time correction« to get to the menu for the time correction.
- First decide whether the pitch should remain unchanged or change in proportion to the tempo and, if necessary, place a checkmark in the "Procedure" area.
- This practical tip gives you information on the optimal settings for pitch correction in Wavelab.
- There are essentially four options:
- a) Change the duration of the audio file or your selection.
- b) Change the tempo from 120 bpm using a three-sentence or enter the starting tempo first. We will show you in detail how this works in the picture gallery.
- c) Enter the percentage target duration. 50% corresponds to a doubling of the tempo.
- d) If you want a variable time correction, use one of the three methods to select the maximum tempo change and then modulate it. In the picture gallery we show you in more detail how to do it.
- Click Apply and close the Time Correction window.
