Waze: Set the language to German - how it works
With community-based maps, Waze is an exciting alternative to Google Maps and Co. We show you how to set the language in German.
Waze - Set the user interface to German
If you download the Waze app for your Android smartphone or iPhone, it should automatically be set to German. You can also change the language of the user interface manually at any time:
- Open the settings by tapping the magnifying glass icon in the lower left corner and then the gear icon in the upper left corner.
- In the "Advanced Settings" area, select "General" and then "Language". Note that the options are always displayed in the currently active language. If you cannot read them, look for the in the settings option marked with a gear and select the first point there.
- You can now set the desired language and also select German. After the change, you have to restart the app.
Waze - Select German route instructions
Waze can display route instructions in various languages, including of course German. You can easily choose which one you want to hear:
- In the Waze app map view, tap the speaker icon in the lower right corner.
- Now select the menu item "Route instructions" and tap on the desired language and voice. You can then close the window. If the voice is not yet on your smartphone, the new announcements are now downloaded from the Internet.
Waze - Switch to the German website in the browser
You can also use Waze in different languages in your web browser. How to switch to German:
- On the Waze homepage, scroll down to the footer. There you will find a dropdown list in which you select "German".
