WD Elements hard drive is not recognized - you can do that
- If the hard drive is an external USB hard drive, you should first make sure that both connections are properly connected.
- In particular, the USB port on the hard drive must be properly inserted so that the hard drive is correctly recognized.
- If it is an internal hard drive or SSD, you should first take a look at the "Disk Management". You can find this in the "Control Panel".
- If a hard drive without a name is displayed here, right-click on it and select "Change drive letter and paths".
- Then assign a free letter to the hard disk and determine the available size. Save with "OK". You should now be able to use the hard disk properly again.
- If this is not the case, make sure that you have connected the hard drive correctly and that all connections are properly seated.
- To test whether the hard disk is defective, you can test it on another PC.
