WD My Cloud: no access to the dashboard - what to do?
If you don't have access to the dashboard of your WD My Cloud, the device is practically out of control. Here we show you what you can do in this case.
WD My Cloud: No access to the dashboard - you can do that
- Make sure you are on the network and that you are accessing the WD My Cloud at the correct address. To do this, open the user interface of your router. We'll show you how this works here. Check which IP the My Cloud has and call the NAS via it.
- Make sure your WD My Cloud has a static IP address. Otherwise this can change, for example, in the event of a power failure.
- Check that the My Cloud is switched on and also check the network cable.
- If the WD My Cloud has just started, it may take a few minutes for it to be fully functional. Wait up to five minutes until the device is operational again.
- Unplug any hard drives and USB sticks and restart the system by briefly cutting off the power supply. However, this is only conditionally recommended - especially when data is being transferred.
- If none of this helps, press the reset button on the back of the My Cloud. This will delete all of your settings, but the data on the hard drive will remain.
- If none of this helps, you can only contact support.
In the next practical tip, you will learn how to set up and manage the WD My Cloud recycle bin.
