Use WD My Cloud with Time Machine - so it'll work
- First go to "System Preferences" on your Mac.
- Click on "Time Machine" there. To make all settings visible, click on the lock below and enter your admin password.
- Then select "Add or remove backup volume ...".
- In the next window, select "TimeMachineBackup" and check "Encrypt backups". With "Use volume" you confirm this.
- For security, you must log in to the My Cloud with your admin data. To do this, click on "Registered User" and then enter your details.
- After clicking on "Connect" you can select a password for the backup. Important: The backup cannot be restored without this password!
- Enter the password in both fields and complete the process by clicking on "Encrypt drive".
