WD My Cloud: Activate and manage trash
So that you do not irrevocably delete important files, the WD My Cloud offers the recycle bin. We'll show you how to activate and manage the service.
Activate WD My Cloud - Trash
- Open the user interface of your WD My Cloud in the browser.
- Click on "Shares" in the upper horizontal menu and select the entry for which you want to activate the recycle bin. Repeat this step for all shares for which you want to activate the trash.
- Set the slider at "Activate trash" to On. Now all files in this share are no longer deleted, but moved to the trash.
WD My Cloud: Adjust trash settings
- To adjust the Recycle Bin settings, open the WD My Cloud user interface.
- Click on "Settings" in the horizontal menu and scroll all the way down. The entry "Trash" is located under the heading "Services".
- With a click on "Delete" you can empty the trash. Under "Configure" you can set whether the recycle bin should delete itself automatically and how long the files should remain in it.
