Reset WD My Cloud - Here's how
If you want to reset your WD My Cloud storage, all you have to do is find the right setting. We'll show you how it's done.
Reset WD My Cloud to factory settings
Note: Depending on the device, the following instructions may differ slightly in the design.
- First, open the WD My Cloud dashboard. To do this, enter the IP address assigned during setup or the model name such as "// wdmycloudex2100 /".
- Once in the dashboard, you can log in to the device and select "Settings" in the top right.
- Go to the "Utilities" category on the left, there you will find the "Restoring Factory Settings" section.
- Select the option "System only" or "Full recovery". The second option also deletes your data.
- Then click on the "Reset" button and confirm the process.
- The reset can take several hours, depending on the size of the WD My Cloud. Never disconnect the device from the power.
- You can then set up cloud access again.
