If you use the web.de mail service and want to check your emails on the go on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, you must first set up your account. Here we'll show you how it's done:
Receive Web.de emails on mobile Apple devices
To do this, first open the Settings app.
- Select the menu item "Mail, Contacts, Calendar".
- Under Accounts, click "Add Account".
- There you select the item "Other" at the bottom under the mail providers.
- Click on "Add mail account" at the top.
- Now you have to enter the user data of your mail account. You need your name, your email address, your password and a freely selectable name for the mail account. Once you have entered this information, click on "Next" in the top right corner.
- In the next step, you must first choose between the POP and IMAP protocol. The most common is the POP protocol, which was also chosen in this example.
- Now all you have to do is fill in the empty fields: Enter your email address and password again. The host names for incoming and outgoing messages are "pop3.web.de" and "smtp.web.de" (see picture).
- Now click on "Save" at the top right and your Web.de mail account has been successfully set up. You can now open the Mail app and check your messages for the first time.
