Web.de automatically deletes old emails - what to do?
If Web.de automatically deletes your emails, you can quickly put a stop to the hustle and bustle. We show you how to prevent your mail from being deleted in an uncontrolled manner.
Prevent Web.de from being deleted automatically
At Web.de you can decide for each of your folders yourself when or whether the content should be automatically deleted at all. This can be set via the folder settings:
- After you have logged in to your mail account, you will see your folders on the left.
- If you move the mouse over one of the folders, a small tool appears on the right - the symbol for the settings.
- If you click on it, you will be offered different times after which the mails will be automatically deleted.
- If you want to prevent automatic deletion through your emails, simply choose the "Never" option.
- As a user of a FreeMail account, you should also log in at least once every six months. If you fail to do this, all existing folders including emails from web.de will be deleted.
- Tip: Since you have only a limited storage space available with the Web.de free account, you should empty your folders yourself from time to time, otherwise new mails will be rejected due to lack of storage space.
