WebOS: Set up a VPN connection - how it works
If you want to set up a VPN connection on your LG Smart TV under WebOS, you can do this in two different ways. We present both variants to you.
Set up a VPN connection under WebOS
Unfortunately, there are no apps for WebOS that can easily establish a VPN connection. If your router is sufficiently equipped, you can set up a VPN tunnel in the router. Alternatively, you can configure the VPN connection directly on the television, but this usually requires a paid service.
- First you need a provider for Smart DNS. ExpressVPN and BulletVPN offer good services but are chargeable.
- Switch on the television and open the "Settings" via the home button.
- Under "Network" select the category "WLAN connection".
- Under "Advanced Settings" press "Edit".
- Now enter the data you received from the VPN provider.
- Save the data and then restart your TV.
In another practical tip, we will show you how to change your browser under WebOS.
