If you want to find out the Euronorm and the pollutant class of your car, that's easy. However, there is a difference between the Euronorm and the pollutant class. We'll explain what it's all about.
How to determine your car's Euro standard:
The Euronorm is an EU-regulated classification of pollutant limit values into different classes. The classes currently range from EURO 1 to EURO 6d. The pollutant classes, which are currently attached to the cars as badges in the colors red, yellow and green, are regulated at the national level in Germany. They are only indirectly related to the Euronorm. The Euronorm 1-4 are still the same as the pollutant class, however, from the Euronorm 4, no further distinction is made by a differently colored badge. You cannot necessarily determine Euronorm using the sticker. Instead, you can do the following:
- Search for your registration certificate part I (vehicle registration).
- Check in field 14 which Euronorm it is.
- The information is shown as follows: "EURO x". The x indicates the Euronorm of your vehicle.
- Tip: You can also find out the Euronorm based on the pollutant key number.
