Buy TV: the price
A good first step in choosing is to set a budget. This limits the selection and protects against excessive expenditure.
- 200 euros to 400 euros: In this segment you will find appealing full HD televisions that are normally sufficient for every living room. The size is usually 40 inches or less. You have to do without extras such as smart TV or the latest screen technology.
- 400 euros to 700 euros: Here you will find Ultra HD televisions that stand out with brisk panels and outstanding colors. Smart TVs are also easy to find in the price segment. The screen sizes are usually between 46 and 55 inches.
- 700 euros to 1100 euros: In this price range there are Ultra HD televisions with very high quality panels. Smart functions are standard here and a screen size of over 55 inches is not uncommon.
TV size - which fits best?

- 30 to 42 inches: The size is recommended for a distance of approx. 2 to 2.60 meters. The small devices fit in almost every living room and are not intrusive.
- 46 to 55 inches: For a distance of approx. 2.90 to 3.40 meters. The value of 50 inches corresponds to approximately 1.30 meters. Here you can already think about a wall bracket, otherwise the TV can look chunky and is not far enough away.
- 55 to 65 inches: You should be about 3.40 to 4.20 meters away from the device. A wall bracket or a large sideboard are highly recommended for TVs of this size.
Which TV suits me? - More tips and tricks
- Go to an electronics retailer that displays and operates various televisions. Get an impression of the picture quality and the colors. Do you prefer colorful and high-contrast colors or a natural shade? Many settings can often be made afterwards.
- Find out beforehand about the type of fastening. A television should not stand around in the way and be visible from many angles.
- Check the compatibility with existing electronic devices such as Blu-Ray players or Home Connect systems. Also pay attention to how many inputs your TV should have.
