Which network does Eteleon use? Network coverage and quality
Before signing a contract with Eteleon, you should first find out about the network, coverage and quality. We have compiled the information here.
How good is the Eteleon network?
- Eteleon arranges tariffs from various providers such as PremiumSIM, but also offers its own tariffs. These tariffs mostly use the O2 network.
- In the CHIP network test in 2014, O2 took third place behind Vodafone and Telekom. A major point of criticism was that the LTE network was already expanded, but still quite slow. In some cities, the O2 LTE network was on average even slower than the ordinary UMTS network (3G). A mobile phone contract from Eteleon with LTE does not necessarily have to bring a big advantage.
- Even if the differences are relatively small, O2 has the worst speech quality. Especially in rural areas, the quality drops significantly, but this is similar for other providers.
- Even if O2 is a stable, reliable network, you have to cut a few corners when surfing. The mobile data network cannot be reached comparatively often, especially on motorways and country roads.
In the next practical tip, we will show you how to identify cost traps for mobile phone tariffs.
