Which network does Versatel use? Network coverage and quality
If you want to choose Versatel as your next mobile operator, you should first find out about the network, coverage and quality.
Versatel: what is the network like?
- Since the beginning of 2014, Versatel has no longer been using the E-Plus network, but has been offering its customers the O2 network.
- O2 reached third place in the CHIP network test in 2014 and was beaten by the strong competition from Vodafone and Telekom.
- The biggest point of criticism that concerns you as a Versatel customer is the comparatively poor availability of the data network in rural areas and on motorways. O2 still has some catching up to do here.
- O2 is also slightly inferior to the competition when it comes to making calls, even if there are only minor differences. The average call establishment took the longest with O2, especially via LTE. The speech quality was mediocre with around 5 percent poor speech samples.
- Conclusion: The O2 network is generally in a good condition, even if it cannot yet hold a candle to Vodafone and Telekom. A possible merger with E-Plus is considered likely in the coming years. This merger could significantly improve the network.
