Power supply on the PC: which one do I have?
- There are now numerous tools with which you can read out almost all the data of the individual PC components. However, tools like Speccy fail with the power supply.
- The power supply only supplies power to the computer and does not transmit any data. For this reason, no information can be read out on the PC.
- To find out the data of the power supply, you have to do it yourself. Turn off the computer completely, disconnect the device from the power supply and unscrew the housing.
- You will now find a sticker on the power supply. Here you can find all the relevant data such as the voltage specification and the power in watts.
Laptop power adapter: which one do I have?
- It's much easier with a laptop. Here you only have to lift the power supply and take a look at the bottom.
- Here you will find values for both input and output. The respective volt and watt numbers should match for the new power supply.
