We'll show you how to fix the werfault.exe error yourself.
werfault.exe: Troubleshoot Windows
- The werfault.exe file is an important file that is an integral part of Windows. The file does that. that error reports are sent to Microsoft and is located in the directory C: \ Windows \ System 32.
- If there is an error with the werfault.exe file, you should first start the Windows System File Checker (SFC). The werfault.exe file is also checked and repaired if necessary.
wefault.exe: Check memory for errors
A memory problem may also cause the werfault.exe file to fail. A short memory check can't hurt anyway:
- Open the Control Panel and enter "RAM" in the search above.
- From the search results, select the "Diagnose computer memory problems" option.
- Now you can choose whether you want to run the diagnosis now or the next time the system is started.
- The process can take a few minutes. If the werfault.exe error continues, follow the instructions in the next paragraph.
Disable werfault.exe service
As a last step, you can simply prevent the error reports from being reported. If the werfault.exe file no longer works, it cannot cause errors. However, deleting the file is not recommended under any circumstances.
- Press the [Windows] and [R] keys simultaneously so that the "Execute" command opens.
- Enter "services.msc" here and confirm with "OK". Then the services start.
- Scroll to the bottom of the list and look for the "Windows Error Reporting Service".
- Right-click on the service and select "Properties".
- Change the start type from "Manual" to "Deactivated". Save the change with the "OK" button. Then restart the computer.
