If you have been blocked in WhatsApp, you can no longer send messages. The blocking can be avoided with a few tricks. We'll tell you what options you have.
WhatsApp: Bypass blocking in older versions
If one of your contacts blocked you in WhatsApp, you will no longer see the profile picture and your messages will not be delivered. There are also other indications of how to recognize a blockage. Until recently, you could continue to contact such contacts with a simple trick:
- All you had to do was create a new WhatsApp group and add the person who was blocking you and another contact. You could then send messages as usual.
- This gap has been closed in more recent WhatsApp updates. In the meantime, the contact blocking you no longer receives messages from new groups. If you still have an old WhatsApp version, you can test this route.
WhatsApp: Bypass user blocking in new versions
Although the detour via the WhatsApp groups is blocked, you can still outsmart the WhatsApp blockade. All you have to do is change your WhatsApp number. But be careful: If you repeat this trick too often on the same smartphone, you may have to wait longer for an activation code or your account will be temporarily blocked.
- To do this, open WhatsApp and select the "Account" entry in "Settings".
- Here tap on "Change number".
- Then enter your new mobile number. However, please note that you will have to re-verify WhatsApp if you exchange your number.
- As soon as you have been newly registered in WhatsApp, you can contact the person blocking you again.
- Alternatively, you can also create a completely new WhatsApp account with a new SIM card or write to the contact using a friend's cell phone.
