Using data, you can easily find out how many messages you send and receive on WhatsApp. You can read how to find out how you use Android and iOS in this practical tip.
WhatsApp: Find out data usage - how it works on Android
- First open WhatsApp, then touch the surface with the three points below each other. You will find this in the upper right corner. There you select the menu item "Settings".
- Under the settings you will now find various areas with which you can individually design and adapt your WhatsApp account. You will also find the link to your data use there. To do this, you must now touch the "Data usage" item.
- Finally, select the "Network usage" item and you can already see how many messages you have received or sent. You can also specify how often this statistic should be reset. To do this, select the "Reset statistics" category. You can find this at the bottom in the section Network usage.

- For iOS, too, you can find information on data usage under Settings. Then select "Data usage / Network usage" and you are in the desired area.
- With iOS, you can also see how many messages you've sent and received in total. The calls made and received are also displayed. You also have the advantage with iOS that you can check which group or with which contact most of the messages were written.
- For this itemization, select the item "Account / memory usage". You will then see a list of groups and contacts according to their total number of messages. If you then select a contact or a group, you will also be shown how many pictures, messages or locations have been sent. If you want to cancel the selection, you have to press the contact again.
