WhatsApp has stopped working. What to do?
WhatsApp sometimes stops working for a short time. Here we show what reasons can be responsible and what you can do.
WhatsApp has stopped working. You can do that
In the course of the takeover of WhatsApp by Facebook, the popular messenger service came to a complete standstill for some users. WhatsApp can be opened, but does not display messages, nor does the app receive messages or be operated in any other way. It can be because:
- Update: If you have deactivated the updates in the Google Play Store, you will also miss the WhatsApp updates. Check whether you have deactivated the updates in the Google Play Store app. Then tap "My Apps" and check your apps for any pending updates. You start the WhatsApp update with a tap on "Update".
- PlayStore: If the Google Play Store is not working properly because you have deactivated it, go to "Google Play Store" via "Settings"> "Apps". Clear the data and the cache in the app settings. Clean up this data also in the app settings of WhatsApp.
- New installation: If WhatsApp does not work despite the update to the latest version, you only have the option to completely uninstall Messenger. To do this, go to Settings and select "Apps"> "WhatsApp". Tap "Uninstall."
- Download the latest version of WhatsApp from the Google Play Store or from the official WhatsApp homepage. Verify your phone number again. You will receive your messages back thanks to cloud backup.
WhatsApp may be down due to server problems. In this article, we'll show you how to check this.
