WhatsApp: Invite contacts to the group
This quick guide explains how to invite contacts to a group in WhatsApp. It only takes three steps.
Invite contacts to a WhatsApp group - in 3 steps
First open WhatsApp as usual.
- When entering a group, swipe from left to right (iPhone). Android users tap the group description within the group.
- On iPhone, tap "More" and then "Group Info". On the Android smartphone, swipe down to "Add participant".
- On the iPhone, too, you can now invite other contacts as administrator of the group via "Add participant".
WhatsApp update: Invite contacts to the group via link
- Since WhatsApp version 2.16.102, invitation links have been integrated into WhatsApp. You can also invite people who are not yet on your contact list.
- The group administrator can create a link in the settings that can be sent to all desired contacts. If the link is opened on a smartphone, the person is automatically invited to the WhatsApp group.
- Currently, the said Android version of WhatsApp can only check the links. You cannot create your own links yet. In all likelihood, the new function can also be found using the above instructions.
