WhatsApp: Undo message - is that possible?
Would you rather not have sent some spontaneous WhatsApp messages and would like to undo them? Read in this practical tip whether this works.
WhatsApp: Undo message - is that possible?
With the new "Recall" function you can undo your messages on WhatsApp.
- With the old WhatsApp version, you could still revoke messages if, for example, you had poor internet reception and the text could not yet be sent. As long as a clock appears instead of the check mark next to your message, your WhatsApp message has not yet been sent.
- In this case, press the message and select "Delete". The message should no longer reach the recipient.
- In the new WhatsApp version, however, you have five minutes to withdraw your message.
- To do this, use your finger to mark the message you want to undo.
- On Android, then tap the menu button or the three dots at the top right and then select "Recall" or "Withdraw".
- On the iPhone or Windows Phone, you also select the message and tap here directly on "Recall".
Revoke message on WhatsApp - there are these restrictions
- As previously mentioned, you must withdraw the message within five minutes, otherwise it will still be delivered.
- If the text has also been read, it can no longer be revoked. It is therefore important to be quick.
- However, the actual recipient always sees that a message has been retrieved. The message "This message has been recalled" appears.
