Set WhatsApp voice message as a ringtone - how it works
If you want to set a WhatsApp voice message as a ringtone, only a few steps are necessary. In this practical tip we will show you the exact procedure.
iPhone: Set WhatsApp voice message as ringtone
- Download the iDevice Manager for your iPhone and install the program. Now connect your iPhone to the PC.
- Then open the folder "WhatsApp"> "Media"> "WhatsApp Voice Notes".
- Search the folder for the appropriate voice message you want to set as a ringtone.
- Tip: The file name of the voice messages results from the date and the time.
- Once you have found the right file, you must copy it to your PC and rename it to an m4r file.
- Start iTunes and drag and drop the previously renamed file into iTunes. You can now find the file under "Sounds".
- To transfer the ringtone to iPhone, drag it to your iPhone on the left. If the left menu is not visible, press [Ctrl] + [S] so that it is displayed.
- In the settings you can then set the voice message as a ringtone under "Sounds"> "Ringtone".
Android: Set WhatsApp voice message as ringtone
- Download the ES File Explorer to your smartphone if you don't have your own file manager.
- Change to the folder "WhatsApp"> "Media"> "WhatsApp Voice Notes".
- Find the appropriate voice message from the list. The file name of the voice messages is derived from the date and time.
- Tap and hold the respective file and choose "Set as"> "Ringtone".
- If the setting is not available, note the file name and go to "Settings"> "Tones"> "Ringtone".
- Touch "Music" above and search the list for the file name you wrote down. Tap to set the voice message as a ringtone.
