WhatsApp: Status LED does not work - what to do?
WhatsApp also notifies you of new messages via the status LED. You can find out what you can do if this does not work correctly in this practical tip.
Why doesn't the status LED flash on WhatsApp notifications?
First of all, it should be clear that a status LED is a hardware part of the smartphone that is far from being installed in every Android phone - especially in older models. So first make sure that your device has a corresponding LED.
- To activate the LED notification in WhatApp, first open the application and press the menu button.
- Go to "Settings"> "Notifications".
- Under the headings "Notifications" and "Group Notifications" you will find the item "Light".
- If you tap this, you can select the desired color of the LED notification. However, if "None" is set here, the LED will not flash when there is an incoming message.
Status LED does not work - this may be the reason
It is also possible that the status LED is deactivated in your general system settings.
- To do this, open the settings on your Android device and under "Device" go to "Sound and notification". Activate the option for the status LED here.
- If the LED still does not work afterwards, there is probably a defect in the hardware. To be on the safe side and rule out software problems, you should reset your smartphone to the factory settings and make the above settings again.
