WhatsApp verification failed - what to do?
If your WhatsApp verification failed, there is no need to worry: we will show you what you need to do to use WhatsApp properly.
WhatsApp verification: possible problem areas
When registering for WhatsApp, there are a few places that can cause verification to fail. You have to pay particular attention to this:
- Make sure you enter your mobile number correctly: the country code for Germany is +49, so only 49 must be entered. Then enter your mobile phone number including area code in the field next to it. Leave out the first 0 from the area code. For 01573123456 enter 491573123456.
- It is important that your smartphone has an Internet connection: It does not matter whether there is a WLAN or a mobile data connection.
- If the activation still didn't work, uninstall Whatsapp and reinstall it again. There may be a problem within the app, which can be remedied by reinstalling it.
Whatsapp: Verify by call instead of SMS
You can also verify the WhatsApp service by calling:
- Carry out the WhatsApp verification until you get the SMS activation.
- After the SMS activation has failed, the error message and the option of "voice verification" appear on the display. Click on "Call me".
- You will be called automatically and receive a verification code that you enter in the field provided.
- With this, WhatsApp is verified and you can complete the setup of WhatsApp.
