How does Prime Reading work? Info and costs
Prime Reading gives you access to selected books and magazines. We explain to you exactly how it works and whether you also need a Kindle for this.
Amazon Prime Reading - how it works
If you are a Amazon Prime customer in Germany or Austria, you automatically have access to a selection of magazines and books:
- These include various genres such as children's books or comics, but also non-fiction and novels. You can find out which titles are included by specifying "Prime Reading" as a search category on Amazon.
- You also do not need a Kindle to access the offer. A normal tablet or iPad on which you install the Amazon reading app is sufficient.
- You can keep a borrowed book for as long as you like, even if the offer changes constantly. If you have borrowed ten titles, you must first return a title before you can borrow an item from the range.
- Prime Reading is therefore aimed at more devices and is somewhat more universally applicable than the lending library, where you can choose a maximum of one title per month from a larger range.
- Since the offer is included in Prime, the cost is € 69 a year. As a student, you can get away a little cheaper at € 34. In addition to Prime Reading, your Amazon Prime membership includes many other benefits.
Does anyone in the family already have Prime? By sharing your Amazon Prime account, even more people can take advantage of membership.
