How does WiFi to go work? An instruction
"WLAN to go" is, so to speak, a WLAN sharing program from Telekom. This practical tip explains how this works and how you can use WLAN to go.
WLAN to go: requirements
- To be able to use WLAN to go from Telekom, you first need an IP-based connection.
- You also need a WiFi-to-go router. Examples from Telekom are W724V and Hybrid.
- Log in to the customer center with Telekom access. There you can book WiFi to go.
- Telekom now automatically sets up the router. After about two hours you can use WiFi to go. You will see the Telekom_FON ID in the WLAN networks.
Use bandwidth: WLAN to go
- You can use the bandwidth of the DSL connection at home with the router.
- So you can surf at home as normal. Your connection remains secure and private.
Use WiFi to go on the go
- With WLAN to go, your home router releases a second WLAN network. In this network, other users can log in free of charge and use WLAN.
- In return, you can surf free of charge at all Telekom and Partner Fon HotSpots worldwide.
- You can recognize the worldwide WLAN-to-go networks by the abbreviation Telekom_Fon.
You can also create your own "WLAN to go" with a mobile router. Read what you should pay attention to when buying a mobile WiFi hotspot on the next page.
