How do you display English results on Google?
It is not that easy to display English results on Google search: Even if you go to the English version of google.com, the search results and website are in German. But there is a way you can google for English results - even permanently:
1. How to get to Google’s language options
- If you call up Google, you will find the "Settings" at the bottom right. Clicking the button pops out a menu. This takes you to both the "Search Settings" and the "Advanced Search".
2. Advanced search: Search once for English Google results
If you only want to search for English hits once, click on "Advanced Search":
- Here you can make some search settings. Approximately in the middle of the screen you will see the sub-heading "Narrow Results". Below, under "Language", select "English" (see screenshot).
- Then click on the blue "Advanced Search" button at the bottom to display the English search results.
3. Search settings: How to google for English hits permanently
If you want to always have English results displayed on Google in the future, use the "Search Settings":
- Click on "Languages" in the bar on the left. Here you can tick "English" in the selection below to find both English and German-language Google search results in the future (see screenshot).
- If you would like to use the entire Google page in English, select "English" in the upper dropdown bar. You can then optionally remove the checkmark under "German" below to only display English results.
