How can you write with old German script?
For a rustic look, you can use old German font in office applications. We'll show you how.
Install and write new fonts
Many websites offer a large selection of fonts for free to download directly as a TTF file, or archived in a ZIP file. If you install it, you can then use it in all common office applications. To install a font:
- Open the TTF file or the downloaded ZIP archive and then the archived TTF file. After clicking on "Install" you can use the font in all common office applications.
- Alternatively, you can simply copy the file into the fonts folder "C: \ Windows \ Fonts \".

Now you only need the necessary fonts to write with old German script. You can get these from numerous sources on the Internet:
- You can find the font "Naked Monk" in our download area. With this you get the old German letters in all office programs.
- Myfont.de offers medieval fonts. Simply click the download link for your operating system under the desired font. The German ornamental font looks particularly classic.
- Fonts-Fonts.de also has a great selection. If you click "Download" here, you will be offered an executable file. This contains a font downloader that wants to install all sorts of unnecessary toolbars. Cancel the download and click "Zip Download" instead.
