How do I block websites in chrome?
Unfortunately, there is no option to block websites in Google Chrome. However, you can find some apps in the Chrome Web Store that do this work. We present the most convincing plugin for website blocking in Chrome here.
"SiteBlock" blocks all websites that should not be seen
"SiteBlock" is an extension for Google Chrome. The link will take you directly to the download. Learn how to add extensions or apps in Chrome. After adding the app, do the following:
- In Chrome, click the three small black crossbars in the top right corner, then click Settings.
- Select the "Extensions" entry in the context menu on the left.
- Look for "SiteBlock" in the list and click on "Options" under the entry.
- You will now see a field called "Sites to Block". Here you simply enter the websites that "SiteBlock" should block for you. It is important when entering that you leave out "www" (eg: web.de, chip.de, etc.). You will find a little help under the text field.
- Then press "Save Options". As soon as you call up a blocked website, the message "Blocked by SiteBlock extension" appears. To undo the process, simply delete the entry from the block list.
Chrome version 28.0.1500.71 m was used for this practical tip.
