How much RAM does my PC have? Here's how to find out
Especially if you want to buy new software, the important question often arises in advance: "How much RAM does my PC have?". You can easily and quickly answer this question yourself when you are at your computer.
How to find out how much RAM your computer has
There are various ways to find out how much RAM your computer has.
- The first thing you will usually see is the number of RAMs installed when the computer starts up. You have to be careful though, because the information appears immediately and only for a short time after you have started the computer.
- Another option would be to take a look at the BIOS. To get into the BIOS, you have to press the [Del] key on most computers. However, sometimes it can be another key, such as the function key [F1] or [F10]. You will often find a "System information" section here in which your installed RAM is named.
- The operating system can also provide you with information. In Windows, for example, you can access the system information via "Control Panel"> "System and Security"> "System". Here you can see the built-in RAM in the bottom bar (see photo).
- Alternatively, there are also free tools such as "HWiNFO64" or "HWiNFO32" that show you the entire hardware of your PC.
Of course, you also have various options for displaying the working memory in the MAC.
