Connect Wii U to TV - how it works
If you have bought a Wii U, you can connect the console directly to your TV and set it up. We'll show you exactly how to do it.
Wii U: Connect the console to the TV
- First connect the Wii U to your TV using the HDMI cable provided. Care must always be taken to protect the contacts when inserting them.
- Now you can connect the sensor bar to the Wii U. Tip: The connector on the back of the Wii is the same color as the connector.
- Finally, you can connect the Wii U to the power. The device starts automatically and is ready for setup. Use the gamepad for this.
- Then turn on the TV and switch to the appropriate HDMI input. You can then start setting up.
- Note: If your TV does not support HDMI, you can alternatively use the video cable of the classic Wii. The corresponding connection is also available on the Wii U.
