Wii U: The game console has these connections
As the current flagship of Nintendo, the Wii U is equipped with numerous connections. We reveal what these are and what you need the individual ports for.
Front: Overview of Wii U connections
You will find the disk drive on the front of the Wii U. Here you can insert your games. However, the console does not play DVDs and Blu-Rays. There are also other connections under the plastic cover on the front:
- You can expand your Wii U with a suitable SD card via the SD card slot.
- You will also find two USB 2.0 ports that you can use to connect external hard drives or other controllers.
Back: The heart connectors of the Wii U
On the back of the game console you will find two additional USB inputs in addition to the fan slots. There are also the following connections:
- An HDMI output is located right next to the fan slots. You can use this to connect the console to your TV quickly and easily.
- Next door is a small, red-framed port for the sensor bar. You need it so that the Wii U can recognize the movements of your remote control.
- You can also connect your Wii U to the TV via the large black port. To do this, you need the supplied AV cable.
- Finally there is a yellow port for the power cable on the edge.
