Wii U does not recognize SD card - what to do?
If the Wii U does not recognize your SD card, this can be due to both the console and the card itself. We'll show you how to solve the problem.
SD card is not recognized by the Wii U.
The Wii U supports the normal SD card, the SDHC card and with an adapter miniSD and microSD cards.
- First, clean the contacts on the SD card slowly and thoroughly. A microfiber cloth is best suited.
- Make sure that the printed side of the SD card is facing the Wii U's CD compartment. This is the only way to recognize the memory card.
- Also check whether there is a lock on the card. On the side of some cards you will find a small switch that blocks the card from access. Put it on.
- If you have the opportunity to borrow an SD card from a friend's Wii U, you can use it to check the functionality of the SD slot. In addition, blow into the compartment a few times to remove any dust deposits.
