Wii U: Connect external hard drive to the console
- Simply connect the external hard drive to the Wii U using a USB cable. You can use both the front and rear connectors.
- Switch off the console completely before plugging in the hard disk and then on again. The hard drive is automatically recognized and formatted for the Wii U. Please note: All data on the hard disk will be lost.
- The hard drive can then be used as external storage on the Wii U. You can use it to call up pictures and music or to put entire games on it. For this reason, depending on the application, both small and large external hard drives are suitable for the Wii U, with and without a power connection.
