Wii U: Install homebrew channel
If you want to install the Homebrew program on the Wii U, only a few simple steps are necessary. You can find out how to do this in this practical tip.
How to install the homebrew channel on the Wii U.
- Open the "Settings" on the console and make sure that you have at least the "5.5.1" firmware. This is shown in the top right corner.
- If you are a firmware item under "5.5.1", you must first carry out a firmware update.
- Then connect an empty SD card to your PC and format the SD card as FAT32.
- Then download the latest version of the homebrew channel and unzip the archive on your PC.
- Move the extracted files to the empty SD card and make sure that the files are complete.
- On this page you can download apps and programs for the homebrew channel. Move these files to the "Apps" folder on the SD card.
- Then connect the SD card to the Wii U and open the browser on the console.
- Enter "//loadiine.ovh/" in the address bar and select the green button on the page.
- Select the SD card in the menu and you can use the homebrew channel.
- Note: You have to do the last two steps every time you want to start the homebrew channel.
