Connect Wii U to the internet
To connect the Wii U to the Internet, you need WiFi. You should also have your WiFi password ready for setup.
- Start the "System Settings" on your Wii U.
- Select the item "Internet" and then the option "Connect to the Internet". Use the left stick of the gamepad for this.
- Your Wii U will now automatically search for nearby wireless networks. After the search is finished, select your WLAN with the right stick.
- Enter your WiFi password and confirm with "OK". Your Wii U will then start a connection test. If it was successful, press the "OK" button again.
- You then determine whether the WLAN connection you have set up should be the standard connection. To do this, click "Set", otherwise click "No".
- Finally, you can download and install a system update. The update can also be carried out in the background.
Online functions of the Wii U
After successful setup, you have access to many online functions of the Wii U: You can chat with other users and purchase games, demos and much more in the Nintendo eShop. The integrated internet browser is now also available. Online games are also possible.
