Step 1: remove the old display from the Wiko Lenny
Note: When changing the display, several screws are removed from the device. It's best to make a small sketch so that each screw comes back in the right place at the end.
- First switch off the Wiko Lenny completely and remove the back. To do this, reach up between the display and the back.
- Remove the battery and the SIM card. Now remove all visible screws.
- Take a plastic tool and slide it to the right of the battery compartment between the display and the colorful frame.
- Pry the frame up slightly so that it releases from the anchor.
- Now place the plastic tool in other places to completely detach the colored frame.
- The main board of the Wiko Lenny is now exposed. To the right of the camera you will see another screw that you need to remove.
- To the right of the screw is the connector for the display. Use a plastic tool to gently pry the bottom portion of the connector up and away.
- Hold the connector with two fingers and pull it upwards with a little force to release the bond.
Step 2: change the display of the Wiko Lenny
- Turn the Wiko Lenny over and place the plastic tool between the frame and the glass below. Carefully move the tool around until the glass has loosened everywhere.
- Remove the old glass from the display and make sure that you do not leave any fingerprints on the actual display.
- Now take the new glass in hand and run the cable through the opening at the top.
- Reconnect the cable from the display to the main board. Be very careful again.
- Screw the last screw you removed back into the board and simply follow the instructions in reverse.
- Tip: Before assembling, make sure that the volume up and volume down buttons are in their right places. These often slip when the display is replaced.
