Winamp app: transfer music via WiFi - how it works
With the help of the Winamp app for Android, you can transfer your music directly from your PC to your smartphone via WiFi. We explain how this works in this practical tip. Important: The method described here only works if you have bought the full version of the Android app.
Connect the Winamp app to your PC
To synchronize, the desktop version of Winamp must recognize your smartphone.
- Make sure that your PC and your Android smartphone are on the same WiFi network.
- Go to the settings of the Winamp app and activate WiFi sync.
- Then go to "Devices" in the Winamp program of your PC. Click "Start detection" in the lower right corner. If your Android phone is not recognized directly, it sometimes helps to close Winamp on the computer and open it again.
- When your smartphone is displayed under Devices, click on the "Embed" icon.
- Now a connection request appears on your Android phone. If you agree to this, your PC is connected to your smartphone.
Transfer music via WiFi
Once your smartphone is connected, it will appear under "Devices" in Winamp.
- You can now drag and drop songs from your media library directly to your phone.
- Alternatively, you have the option of synchronizing your entire music library from the PC to the android. Simply click on your smartphone under "Devices" and select "Sync".
You can also stream your current music from anywhere. This practical tip explains how this works.
