Winamp: Media are not added to the media library - what to do?
Should your media be added to the Winamp library, but that doesn't work? This problem can usually be solved in the media library settings. We show how to do it.
Add media to the Winamp library
Most users try to put a song in Winamp by simply opening the specific folder, right-clicking on the desired file and then selecting "Put in Winamp". When Winamp is opened the next time, there is a problem: The file can no longer be found in the playlist. To work around this problem:
- Right-click on the "Media Library" tab on the left side of the screen.
- Then select "Options" and "Settings ..." or simply press the key combination [Ctrl] + [P] to access the Winamp settings for monitored folders.
- Here you can now specify the folder (in which the file is located) and press "Scan now". If all played files are to be automatically added to Winamp or the folder is to be scanned each time it is started, these functions must be marked with a check mark (see image).
- After you have made these settings, the box can be closed with "Close".
