Window Phone: Apps crash - what to do?
If the apps on the Windows Phone crash, there are different causes. We show you solutions and give you helpful tips.
Apps crash on Windows Phone - you can do that
Apps crash for a variety of reasons. We explain to you what causes this and how you can fix the problem yourself.
- If you have switched on your Windows Phone for too long, errors can occur. You should restart your smartphone properly. In Windows Phone 8 and 8.1, press the unlock key and the volume down button. After that, your smartphone usually works properly again.
- If the soft reset does not improve, you must uninstall the app and then reload it from the app store. The problem with reinstalling is often solved.
- It may also be that the app itself is faulty and the developer has to provide an update so that the app runs properly. You can see from the reviews in the app store whether other users have identified a problem.
Last resort: reset Windows Phone
If all of the above measures bring no improvement or even several apps crash, reinstalling the Windows Phone often helps.
- To reset your Windows Phone, first open the settings.
- Then select "Info". You have to scroll down a bit for this.
- Here you will find the "Reset mobile phone" button. If you select it, your cell phone will be reset to the factory settings. Note: All data, i.e. contacts, SMS, pictures, videos and music tracks will be lost. Data on the SD card is not affected.
- We recommend that you create a backup of your Windows Phone beforehand. This allows you to restore the data after the new installation.
