In Windows 10, Microsoft relies on touch operation so that elements have been changed - including the volume control. With just a few clicks, however, you can get the old volume control back, as we show you in this practical tip.
Get the old volume control in Windows 10 - so it'll work
- Press the key combination [Windows] + [R] and enter "regedit". Confirm with [Enter].
- Then navigate to the key "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows NT \ CurrentVersion \" on the left side.
- Then right click on the "CurrentVersion" folder and choose "New"> "Key".
- Name this key "MTCUVC" and confirm this with the [Enter] key.
- Now mark the new key and right-click in the right field and select "New"> "DWORD value (32-bit)".
- Then name this entry "EnableMtcUvc" and leave the value at "0". You can then use the old volume control again.
