Windows 10: Deactivate App Store - Here's how
If you deactivate the App Store under Windows 10, no apps can be downloaded for the time being. This can be very helpful, for example, as a child lock. We'll show you how to disable the App Store.
Disable the App Store on Windows 10
- Press the [Windows] and [R] keys simultaneously so that the "Execute" command opens.
- Enter "regedit" here and confirm with "OK". Then the registry editor starts.
- Navigate to the following path on the left: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ Software \ Policies \ Microsoft
- Right-click on the "Microsoft" key and select a "Key" under "New".
- Then name the new key "WindowsStore".
- Then right-click on an open area to open the context menu and select a "DWORD value (32-bit)" under "New".
- Name this "RemoveWindowsStore" and then open it with a double click.
- Enter a "1" as value and close the window with "OK". If you restart your computer, the App Store will be deactivated.
