In Windows 10, you can correctly end individual apps in different ways. We show you how to do this.
Quit apps completely on Windows 10
In contrast to Windows 8, the apps in Windows 10 are opened again in windows. Therefore, click on the cross symbol at the top right to end the program.
- Alternatively, you can right-click on the top bar of the window and select the "Close" option.
- Alternatively, you can find all open apps at the bottom of the taskbar. Move the mouse over the respective app or close the app by right-clicking on the taskbar.
- If you have opened an app in full-screen mode, the top bar no longer appears. Then move the mouse to the top of the screen and select "Close".
- At the bottom left of the taskbar you will find a window icon next to the search. After a click you will get an overview of all open apps, which you can also close here (see picture).
- An app can also be closed using the keyboard. To do this, use the key combination [Alt] + [F4]. On many laptops it is enough to press the [F4] key.
- If an app cannot be closed, use the Task Manager. Press the [Ctrl] + [Alt] + [Esc] keys at the same time and end the apps by right-clicking.
