Windows 10: Switch off automatic playback - how it works
This guide shows you how to turn off automatic playback in Windows 10. You can set the desired actions for all media types in the settings or switch off automatic playback completely.
Switch off automatic playback in Windows 10 - this is how you proceed
- In Windows 10, open the "Settings" via [WINDOWS] + [I] and then click on "Devices". At this point, select "Automatic playback".
- Now you can deactivate the slider for "Use automatic playback for all media and devices". In this way you switch off the automatic playback completely.
- However, you can also leave the controller here and select the desired actions for each media type.
- You can choose what should happen when you insert a memory card. Here you can select "Take no action" in the drop-down menu if you do not want an automatic action in this case.
- This process can also be configured for a removable disk and its contents. You can also specify here whether DVDs and Blu-Rays are to be played automatically.
- On the page below you will also find the settings for automatic playback on external devices such as your smartphone. Here, too, you can choose whether, for example, photos and videos should be synchronized
