If you work outdoors or in bright rooms, you have to adjust the screen brightness in Windows 10. In this article, we reveal where you can find the necessary settings and which key combinations work particularly quickly.
Windows 10: Adjust screen brightness via the settings
On a notebook or netbook, you can adjust the screen brightness almost continuously in Windows 10.
- To do this, open the settings with the key combination [Windows key] + [I].
- In the "System" category, select the "Screen" tab.
- Then adjust the slider at "Brightness level" to increase or decrease the screen brightness.
Windows 10: Adjust brightness using shortcuts
You don't necessarily have to start the Settings app for screen brightness. You can also use your keyboard shortcut to make your display lighter or darker.
- Fn key: Most notebooks have the [Fn] key. Press these together with the respective buttons that control your display brightness. You can recognize the buttons by the blue sun symbols.
- Mobility Center: Alternatively, use the key combination [Windows key] + [X] and select the "Mobility Center". There you can also adjust the brightness using the slider.
- Info center: If you click on the speech bubble symbol in the lower right corner of the taskbar, the info center opens. You can use the button with the sun icon to gradually increase the screen brightness.
