Windows 10: activate magnifier - how it works
If the text in Windows 10 is too small for you, you can activate the magnifier. In this guide to Windows 10, we explain how this works and how you can best use the tool.
Activate screen magnifier in Windows 10
The screen magnifier automatically follows your mouse pointer and enlarges the current screen section. So you can recognize even the smallest texts and symbols.
- Click on the Windows logo at the bottom left and select "Settings". Alternatively, use the key combination [Windows] + [I].
- In the Settings window, switch to the "Ease of Operation" section.
- There, click on the "Magnifier" tab and activate the option of the same name.
- After a few seconds, the screen magnifier appears automatically and follows your cursor.
Windows 10: Use Magnifier effectively
If you have activated the operating aid, a small magnifying glass symbol appears on your screen. If you click on it, you can further customize the tool:
- Use the blue plus and minus buttons to set the zoom level. This also works with the key combinations [Windows] + [+] and [Windows] + [-].
- If you do not want the enlarged view to take up the entire screen, click on "Views". The "Docked" option only uses the upper part of the screen for the enlarged view and the "Magnifying glass" option creates a small square around your mouse pointer.
- If you no longer need the magnifying glass, you can simply close the small window.
- Tip: Instead of using the screen magnifier directly, you can initially only enlarge the text in Windows 10.
