Windows 10: activate and set up screen saver
Although Windows 10 has its own lockscreen, the classic screen saver has not yet had its day. In this practical tip, we will show you how to activate and set it up.
Windows 10: activate and set up screen saver - how it works
The screensavers were one of the big highlights in the earlier versions of Windows. In Windows 10, the feature was replaced by the lock screen. Nevertheless, you can get the classic screensaver back via the settings. To do this, proceed as follows:
- Click the Windows icon in the lower left and then the gear icon. Alternatively, use the key combination [Windows] + [I] to open the settings.
- There you choose the "Personalization" category.
- Go to the Lock Screen section on the left.
- At the bottom you will find the option "Settings for screen saver". If you click on this, a new window opens.
- There you can select your desired screensaver under "Screen saver", adjust it further under "Settings" and set the activation time via "Waiting time".
- Finally save your settings with "OK".
In another practical tip, we will show you how to deactivate the new start menu under Windows 10 and visually resume the previous versions.
