Windows 10: Hide email address at login
Since the so-called anniversary update, Windows 10 shows its own email address on the login screen. We explain in our practical tip how you can hide them.
Windows 10: Hide email address on login screen
With the Redstone or Anniversary Update, Microsoft has expanded Windows 10 by some functions. Among other things, your own email address already appears on the registration screen. This means that everyone can see your email address without having to log into your PC. You can deactivate the new feature via the settings:
- To do this, press the key combination [Windows] + [I] and select the "Accounts" option in the new window.
- In the left column click on "Login Options".
- Scroll down to the "Privacy" section and uncheck the "Show account details (e.g. email address) on login screen" option.
- Close the settings window and restart your computer. The email address will then have disappeared from your login screen.
