Windows 10: Remove individual tiles from the Start menu
The start menu returns on Windows 10, but with tiles. If you are annoyed by them, you can also remove them. In this guide, we will show you how this works.
Remove tiles from the Windows 10 Start menu
You can also access the apps or tiles via the new Windows 10 Start menu. However, many users consider these tiles to be annoying. With the following steps you can easily remove the tiles from the start menu.
- First open the start menu using the button or the Windows key.
- With the right mouse button you can mark a tile and then select "Detach from start". The tile then disappears from the start menu.
- Repeat this until all tiles are removed from the start menu.
- However, the start menu still remains wide and extends far across the screen with the empty space.
- You can make the start menu smaller by dragging the right margin to the left with the left mouse button.
