Windows 10: Hide individual updates - how it works
With the default settings, Windows 10 automatically installs new updates. Unlike in previous versions of Windows, you cannot easily hide the updates. We show you a trick how it works anyway.
Windows 10: Hide updates and don't install them
If Windows 10 finds new updates, you will be notified and the updates installed. While you could still hide individual, unwanted updates in earlier versions of Windows, this no longer works in Windows 10 by default.
- Microsoft has itself reacted to the problem and developed a special tool with which you can hide individual updates. Open this Microsoft website and download the script using the link "Download the" Show or hide updates "troubleshooter package now".
- Run the program and click "Next".
- Then select the "Hide Updates" option and mark all unwanted updates.
- Finally click on "Next" and wait until Windows has accepted your settings.
If you have already installed an unwanted update, you have to remove it later. How this works is shown on the next page.
